The Houston Astros are signing right-handed relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel, per ESPN's Jeff Passan. The report dropped after soon after news emerged that the Texas Rangers granted Kimbrel his release from their Triple-A team, the Round Rock Express.

Craig Kimbrel could see leverage opportunities soon with the Astros, who are without Josh Hader and Bennett Soussa due to injuries.

The Rangers had a farm hand that is likely to be a future HOFer. Kimbrel is now headed back to the bigs, but with the Astros instead.
