More than 10 million people across the Midwest remain under flood alerts Monday morning as heavy rainfall continues to pummel parts of Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, triggering flash flooding in Milwaukee that has forced the Wisconsin State Fair to cancel its last day.

Record-setting rains in southeastern Wisconsin overnight Saturday to Sunday led to life-threatening flash flooding in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee and surrounding communities. The downpour prompted water rescues, damaged homes and businesses, and knocked out power for thousands.

It was the second consecutive day of flash flooding in Milwaukee. On Saturday night, flash flooding prompted authorities to close the Wisconsin State Fair State Fair Park in the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis and cancel the final day of the fair on Sunday, authorities said.
