The acclaimed American director of the Godfather movies and Apocalypse Now, who is 86, had been admitted to the Policlinico Tor Vergata, a public hospital in the Italian capital, on Tuesday to undergo a non-emergency cardiac procedure.

On Instagram, the filmmaker reassured his fans: “Da Dada (what my kids call me) is fine, taking an opportunity while in Rome to do the update of my 30 year old afib procedure with its inventor, a great Italian doctor - Dr. Andrea Natale! I am well!”

The legendary filmmaker had wrapped a six-city U.S. tour in support of 'Megalopolis' in partnership with Live Nation at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts on Friday night.
