India's wholesale inflation in April slowed to a 13-month low on the back of moderating food prices, government data showed on Wednesday.

India's headline inflation eased to 3.16% in April, the sixth consecutive month of decline.The reading was lower than March's data of 3.34%, and is lower than the 3.27% expected by economists polled by Reuters.

India's wholesale price inflation (WPI) eased to 0.85% in April from 2.05% in March, driven by falling prices of food, fuel, and manufactured goods. Vegetable, onion, and potato prices dropped sharply.
