Frankenstein, Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro’s new Frankenstein movie—which began streaming on Netflix today—makes it very clear that Jacob Elordi’s character is not a monster. He is, instead, a Creature, and is listed as such in the credits. But I’ll do you one better: Not only is Jacob Elordi not a monster in GDT’s Frankenstein, he is, in fact, a golden retriever.
Even before anybody knew what Jacob Elordi really looked like as The Creature in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, there's been a general theme about his casting and how it impacts how we view the character. Namely, that his presence means we're getting a "hot monster" (via Toronto Life) due to Elordi's existing heartthrob status.
Elordi’s Frankenstein transformation required marathon 10-hour sessions. There were 42 pieces for the full-body look, with 14 for the head and neck. It took about 90 minutes to remove the creature makeup, using an inflatable sauna in Elordi’s trailer to help shed the prosthetics.
Frankenstein will be available on Netflix from Midnight Pacific Time (PT) on November 7, 2025/3 am Eastern Time (ET). You will need a Netflix subscription to stream A House of Dynamite. A standard subscription with ads is $7.99 per month, and a standard no-ads subscription starts at $17.99 per month.
