The NWS Reno NV issued a winter weather advisory at 1:43 a.m. on Saturday valid for Sunday between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.

A significant weather event is unfolding in the Greater Lake Tahoe area with both a Lake Wind Advisory and a High Wind Watch in effect.

On Friday at 4:44 p.m. an updated lake wind advisory was issued by the NWS Reno NV in effect until 5 p.m. Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Ridge gusting up to 150 mph anticipated for Greater Lake Tahoe Area from late Saturday night through Sunday evening.
