The pilots of London-bound Air India flight AI-171, which crashed within a seconds after take-off from Ahmedabad aiport - sent a final distress call Air Traffic Control at 1.39 pm, the Aviation Ministry said on Saturday (14 June). Officials said the crew made the distress call to ATC after the aircraft couldn’t climb past 650 feet.

Mumbai: A special havan and puja were held at the Babulnath Temple in Mumbai on Saturday morning from 8:30 in the morning to noon to pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. The puja was attended by several devotees who gathered to offer prayers and perform rituals in memory of the victims.
Indian investigators have recovered a second black box from the wreckage of the Air India flight as they continued combing the debris for evidence.The flight data recorder was found just hours after the first black box was discovered.
At the hospital in Ahmedabad, family members were giving DNA samples, waiting for official confirmation of their loss in the Air India disaster, and remembering their loved ones.
