Microsoft said Monday it will be shipping Nvidia’s most advanced artificial intelligence chips to the United Arab Emirates as part of a deal approved by the U.S.
Microsoft signed a $9.7 billion deal with IREN for Nvidia chips and data centre capacity, and expanded its Lambda partnership.
The new infrastructure with Microsoft will include the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems, which are also deployed by hyperscaler CoreWeave.
This deal was announced just hours after Microsoft announced a $9.7 billion deal with Australian data center company IREN.
In 2023, Microsoft partnered with an Abu Dhabi-based company called Group42 to grow its UAE data center presence. The tech giant disclosed today that it will have invested more than $7.3 billion in the partnership by the end of the year. Over half the sum was allocated to capital expenditures, a line item that includes data center infrastructure.
