The largest is expected to take place in Portland, where at least five separate demonstrations are planned in and outside of downtown. Two downtown events will happen on Naito Parkway. One will gather at the Salmon Street Springs and another will form at the Battleship Oregon Memorial in Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
A nationwide protest is planned on President Donald Trump's birthday to counter a large military parade taking place the same day in Washington, D.C.

Tens of thousands of Portlanders marched across the Willamette River this afternoon in a show of numbers aimed at opposing President Donald Trump’s deportation campaign and mocking his birthday celebration.
Federal officers in tactical gear are clashing with demonstrators and deploying smoke, tear gas and flash grenades, the Oregonian reports.

Protesters gathered at Lincoln Park, voicing their opposition to President Donald Trump's administration's policies and decisions since his return to office this year. "We are concerned about the loss of democracy, in the Constitution, in the country," local Curtis Rich said.
Organizers call the mass protests nationwide a "day of defiance" in opposition to Trump administration policies.
