He said: "Ozzy and Black Sabbath created this genre of music so that weirdos, rebels and mischiefs alike can all have this place to come together and be themselves. It was an opportunity to celebrate the city as well as the artists, he added.

The statement was signed by wife Sharon Osbourne and their children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, as well as son Louis Osbourne, whom he shared with ex-wife Thelma Riley. Osbourne had been married to Sharon Osbourne since 1982, and they share three children. The musician also shared multiple children with Riley, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1982.
