Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has labeled his side the “worst team” in the club’s history after yet another chastening Premier League defeat on Sunday.

United’s 3-1 defeat against Brighton on Sunday was their sixth in 12 Premier League games at Old Trafford this season and means they have now made their worst start to a league campaign since the 1893/94 campaign 131 years ago.

This Premier League season has been hard to predict for several reasons, not least of which includes Nottingham Forest's surge to the top and Manchester City's skid down the table. Few things are as surprising as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur's inability to escape the bottom half of the table,
