Newcastle have raised their bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Manchester United had still to submit a formal offer for the Slovenia international as of Monday afternoon.

Newcastle are in a strong position as things stand after a day of positive talks held by their co-owner Jamie Reuben with Leipzig and Sesko.

Eddie Howe's side are concerned Man Utd could win the race for the Slovenia star and have sent him a demand, according to a transfer reporter.
