ChatGPT is down this morning and hundreds of people are reporting issues with the AI chatbot. OpenAI is investigating.

Users began to report issues with ChatGPT to DownDetector starting just before 3 a.m. ET, according to the site. Reports continued to spike through the early morning, peaking at around 10 a.m. before falling in the early afternoon.

An unexpected outage has taken down OpenAI's ChatGPT, Sora, and API services. The company is aware and working on a fix.

Fire up ChatGPT and submit any request at the prompt. In return, the AI will tell you that there's an error in the message stream or that something seems to have gone wrong. The trouble is the same whether you use the ChatGPT website, the Windows or Mac app, or the iOS or Android app.
