Like the Marvel comics, Shalla-Bal is the herald of Galactus, a planet-devouring behemoth who is voiced by Ralph Ineson in the movie. She’s covered from head to toe in shiny silver and flies around on a cosmic surfboard, which means Garner had to do motion capture for the first time in her career.

"I was like, 'I don't know how he will hire me for this job,'" Garner said of speaking with director Matt Shakman.
