MINNEAPOLIS—The suspect in the shooting of Minnesota lawmakers on Saturday was feeling down and unhappy with his work situation, but showed no signs that he could turn violent, his self-described best friend and part-time roommate said.

Vance Boelter, who is the suspect in the Minnesota lawmakers' shootings, was reportedly the CEO of a company named Red Lions Group with connections to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Authorities in Minnesota are urgently searching for a gunman they say targeted two Democratic state lawmakers overnight, killing one and her husband, and wounding the other lawmaker and his wife.
