A report of an active shooter at Villanova turned out to be a "cruel hoax," according to the university president and Delaware County DA.

Villanova University on Thursday issued an active shooter alert on its website. The alert says the following: “Police on scene. Move to secure location. Lock/barricade doors. More info to follow. Stay Clear of Law School Scarpa Hall. ACTIVE SHOOTER on VU campus. Move to secure location. Lock/barricade doors. More info to follow.”
