Months after an epidemic of “grease balls” washed up on the NSW coastline, a new mystery has emerged after a woman found dozens of mysterious green balls along another beach.
Tar balls, sticky, dark clumps have been appearing along the beaches in Florida, staining sand and skin, and even causing Fort Lauderdale Beach to temporarily close.
With some estimating that billions of balls are lost annually around the world, efforts are being made to tackle this environmental hazard.
