Boeing stock rose Tuesday after Korean Air ordered more jets.It’s another sign that commercial airliner demand remains robust.Shares of Boeing rose 3.5%, closing at $234.83, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.

Korean Air currently operates 108 Boeing airplanes including 737s, 747s, 777s and 787s. With 72 Boeing jets on order; the carrier’s order book will grow to 175 airplanes once the deal is finalized, the release said.

Korean Air has agreed to purchase 103 Boeing planes in a deal worth approximately $36.2 billion. The deal also includes engines and a maintenance program worth an additional $13.8 billion. The deal coincided with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's visit to Washington, D.C.
