A major search and rescue operation is under way after a ferry carrying more than 250 passengers capsized off northern Cyprus
A ferry capsized off the coast of Cyprus early on Sunday afternoon shortly after departing from Kyrenia for the Turkish port of Tasucu. The boat was around 2km north of Kyrenia when it sank, alerting Turkish Cypriot coastguard boats.
Searches are continuing into the night for around 18 people who are still missing after a ferry carrying 270 passengers capsized and sank.
