Since women's basketball an official NCAA sport in 1982, Texas was one of the early dominant schools, reaching No. 1 in the AP poll every season from 1984-1987, and winning the 1985-86 national championship. It made the Final Four the next season, as well, but then didn't return again until 2003.
The Huskies, however, have been the gold standard when it comes to a flawless season. In six seasons, they have finished unbeaten as the NCAA Tournament champion, with the 2015-16 being the last time UConn was able to complete a perfect season.
All-American center Lauren Betts has led the UCLA Bruins to new heights in women's basketball. The Stanford transfer's scoring and rebounding prowess led the Bruins to the school's first two Women's Final Fours in the NCAA era (since 1982).
