EU urgently seeks agreement on using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine, as US touts other ideas
The European Union has accelerated efforts to agree on a scheme to use frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine after a U.S.-backed peace plan last week set out different ideas, EU officials said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for those helping to end the war with Russia after Trump said he had "zero gratitude."
The president also took aim at former President Joe Biden, arguing that Putin only attacked Ukraine because Biden was president at the time.
France will finalise with other European Union countries a solution for providing financial support to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets, President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday.

The president has repeatedly praised Russia’s Vladimir Putin, threatened and removed existing U.S. aid to Ukraine’s military, and reinforced Russian talking points about the conflict, including blaming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for starting the war.
