Chargers upset win over Chiefs in Week 1 turns in record-breaking streaming numbers in YouTube debut
The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs helped YouTube set a record during their Week 1 matchup. The game — which was the first-ever NFL contest broadcast on YouTube — set the record for most concurrent viewers of a live stream on the platform, YouTube announced Monday.
Via Jennifer Maas of Variety.com, Chiefs-Chargers drew a global audience of 17.3 million viewers on Friday night, from Brazil. In the U.S., the number was 16.2 million. It's a strong number. It's up from the 14.2 million who watched Packers-Eagles on Peacock for the first Friday night of the season.
