Coast Guard suspends search for alleged drug smugglers who jumped overboard after U.S. strike
The U.S. Coast Guard said late Friday it has called off a dayslong search for several people who jumped overboard when their alleged drug-trafficking boats were targeted by the U.S. military.
The service said that conditions in the area where the search was taking place included nine-foot seas and winds approaching 50 miles per hour.
