A redshirt sophomore from Bixby, OK, Jakeb Snyder became the first-ever recipient of the Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation Walk On Scholarship on Wednesday.

A Mayfield woman accused of mistreating animals is now facing additional charges after a deeper investigation by State Police and a licensed veterinarian. Alison Martin, 42, was originally charged on August 6 with one count of animal cruelty after troopers found several dogs living in filthy conditions at her home.

Police are investigating after shots were fired at a home on Lander Road around 9 p.m. Wednesday. According to police, two shots were fired from a vehicle and one of those shots struck a home in the 1500 block of Lander Rd.
