Although the X-Men haven’t had their own movie since Dark Phoenix in 2019, Marvel Studios has reportedly decided on the director it wants to bring the mutant heroes back to the big screen.

Thunderbolts* emerged as one of the biggest successes for Marvel in the recent years after Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. While it resurrected the MCU setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday, getting Jake Schreier onboard for new untitled X-Men movie also comes from the director's personal love for the comics.
