David Allen, a Navy veteran and longtime Stars and Stripes journalist who reported from Guam and Okinawa for nearly two decades, died last week after a prolonged battle with cancer at the age of 79.

David Allen Wagner was born on April 30, 1962, to Elvin M. and Juanita L. (Ervin) Wagner, he passed away on August 1, 2025, in the Cleveland Clinic Hospital surrounded by his family.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy, and is survived by daughter, Nora-Marie, stepson, Justin, and son, Paul.
