NORTH PORT, Fla. — Just over a week into the automated ball-strike system (ABS) experiment, Aaron Boone is not a fan.
The Yankees were able to make key trades for outfielder Cody Bellinger and closer Devin Williams. The Yankees also acquired first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and pitcher Max Fried to the active roster. Additionally, the front office picked up numerous players to the bullpen and lineup via free agency and trade to strengthen the depth of the roster.
Aaron Boone’s new deal for the Yankees is, in effect, a three-year deal through 2027, as they bumped his pay this year to $4.5M and added two years at $5M and $5.5M, making it $15M over three years, The Post has learned. So about $10.5M over two years was added, moving him closer to the upper echelon of manager pay.
Speaking to reporters Monday, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that Giancarlo Stanton's departure from camp was not due to his elbow injuries.
