Rex Ryan entered the ring for the New York Jets’ search of a head coach during the 2025 NFL offseason. Mostly because of his own accord so far to this point. Earlier this week, Ryan appeared on ESPN Radio and was asked if he expects to talk to the team. The former Jets head coach said yes he does.

But if there's one NFL franchise that knows Rex Ryan, it's New York. Some fans may view it as the Jets relying on nostalgia for a cheap pop. But the Jets genuinely believe Ryan could be the head coach to lead them back to prominence.

Now, Ryan told ESPN New York “that he expects to speak with the Jets for their head coaching opening after the regular season ends,” per Jake Asman. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added “Actually a possibility, believe it or not, as a candidate who could be interviewed.”
