A bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of 23andMe to a new buyer, TTAM Research Group, a nonprofit led by Anne Wojcicki, the former CEO and co-founder of the company.

And when 23andMe filed for Chapter 11 in late March, Wojcicki resigned as CEO — noting at the time that she was stepping down to be “in the best position” as an independent bidder.

Some 80% of 23andMe’s more than 15 million customers have agreed to allow their data to be used for research, according to the company. The TTAM acronym is a nod to “twenty-three and me.” ...
