A specialized emergency response team took command of the destructive Greer Fire in eastern Arizona on Thursday morning.

Hundreds of people have been forced from their homes in Apache County due to the Greer Fire, which has burned more than 7,000 acres.

Last night, the fire pushed to the northeast and east towards Coon Canyon. Crews were able to anchor in the heel of the fire, which is near the community of Greer. The fire is estimated to be at 3,500 acres, with no containment.

High winds and rugged terrain are posing challenges for crews battling the destructive Greer Fire in eastern Arizona's White Mountains.

On June 7, 2024, police were called to a residence near Rosser Street and Willow Creek Road in Prescott regarding a domestic dispute, but one of the involved individuals, 34-year-old Daniel Leslie, had left the scene prior to the arrival of police, according to authorities.
