Severe thunderstorms resulted in at least two confirmed tornados in Minnesota on Monday, with huge hail and torrential rain also causing major problems. The National Weather Service reports that a tornado touched down between Nicollet and North Mankato in the south of the state, and there was another confirmed tornado in the Brainerd Lakes area.
There is a line of dying storms moving through the Twin Cities around midday Monday. It is still too early to say if these storms will limit the metro’s severe potential later in the afternoon.
