The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a scare in Game 2 of the 2024 World Series when Shohei Ohtani injured his left shoulder on a stolen base attempt. Ohtani underwent an MRI the following day, which the team only disclosed revealed a partial dislocation of his left shoulder.

Shohei Ohtani presented a target goal Thursday before the Los Angeles Dodgers head to Japan. He’s hoping to swing towards this particular goal during Cactus League play in spring training. Ohtani is earning limited at-bats at Camelback Ranch in Arizona.

On Friday Ohtani hit his first home run of the year, an opposite field blast off Yusei Kikuchi in his first at-bat of spring training. If he keeps up this pace he's going to set some kind of record. Another year. Another incredible sound as the ball hits his bat and then ends up over the fence.

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, and reigning National League MVP, Shohei Ohtani, picked up where he left off last season with an opposite-field home run in his first at-bat of spring training.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani will make his first spring training appearance of the year on Friday night.

Ohtani has not thrown a bullpen session since Feb. 25 and won’t “ramp back up” until closer to the start of the season. There is no specific timetable for his return to pitching in games.

Shohei Ohtani will step into the batter’s box on Friday night under the Arizona lights for the first time this spring, facing his former team that he spent his first six Major League seasons with.
