Residents in Greer and South Fork have been ordered to evacuate their homes after the Greer Fire broke out Tuesday in the small eastern Arizona town.

A fire in the small Arizona community of Greer in the eastern part of the state prompted evacuations after it grew to 3,500 acres in one day.

Strong winds in the past couple of days have fanned the Greer Fire, which has burned more than 7,000 acres in eastern Arizona. Departments from all across the state have sent in crews to help battle the fire.

The weather may increase fire risk near the Greer Fire, and a red flag warning was issued for the area for May 14 until the evening.
