By qualifying for the CWS this season, Arkansas ties Clemson and North Carolina with 12 appearances and no championships (to date). The Razorbacks are making their eighth appearance in the CWS since 2008.

But Friday morning’s session was another pit stop on the homecoming tour for Arkansas sophomore second baseman Cam Kozeal at Millard South, where the Omaha-born infielder played before college. He led the snaking line of Razorbacks off the team bus to the field, welcomed by young kids for high fives.
In a cruel stroke of irony, it was LSU that battled the Arkansas pitchers into submission, not the other way around. The Tigers had 11 two-strike foul balls to extend at-bats and run Arkansas' pitch count up.
