USA TODAY Touchdown Wire on MSNBuccaneers' Chris Godwin Jr. now has a timetable for a return
The Buccaneers are one step closer to getting a key piece of their offense back, as veteran wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. has officially been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. While that clears him for a return to practice, it doesn’t mean he’ll be suiting up right away.
Star wide receiver Chris Godwin is expected to start practicing week two against the Houston Texans and should be ready to play by week 4 against the Eagles, the team announced Thursday.
The Buccaneers plan to activate Godwin (ankle) from the active/PUP list and carry him on the 53-man roster to begin the regular season so that he will be eligible to practice, though he's considered unlikely to play until October, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
