How Mansfield Summit’s 2023 UIL basketball playoff run fueled this year’s title bid
Isaiah Walker and David Bardere were eighth-graders the last time Mansfield Summit played at state in boys basketball. They weren’t on the roster for the 2023 semifinal against Killeen Ellison, but coach Emund Prichett asked them to make the trip to San Antonio to serve as Summit’s ball boys at the Alamodome.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Mansfield Summit has won the boys basketball state title for the first time in school history. Summit took town Fort Bend Marshall in the championship game in San Antonio on Saturday. Mansfield led nearly the entire game and brought home a 54-47 win.
