Twenty-one months ago, Oregon State athletics was dealt what many saw as a death blow when the Pac-12 imploded, leaving them without a conference. The baseball team, unlike any other sport at OSU, opted to play a completely independent schedule this season.

OMAHA, Neb. (WAVE) - The Louisville baseball team is back in Omaha for the sixth time in program history and the first time since 2019 and are set for match-up against national No. 8 seed Oregon State.

To get to the College World Series, teams had to win at least five games over two weekends without losing more than once each round. Three of the eight qualifiers swept their way to Omaha, while one (Oregon State) had to play eight times to secure a spot.

Oregon State is headed to the College World Series after beating Florida State 14-10 Sunday night to win the Corvallis Super Regional. OSU makes its eighth trip to the CWS in Omaha, a place where the Beavers have feasted. Oregon State won national titles in 2006, 2007 and 2018, and threatened a couple other times.
