MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A pet zebra that went missing in Middle Tennessee has been found and rescued safely after multiple days on the loose, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, the zebra, affectionately nicknamed “Ed,” was caught Sunday, June 8 in a field near the Buchanan Estates subdivision of Christiana.

Should the zebra escape again, those who see the wild animal should contact the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office by calling 615-898-7770, Marchesoni said.

The zebra, named Ed, was safely recaptured in a pasture in Rutherford County. He was airlifted in a net and flown by helicopter to a trailer so that he could be returned to his owner, AP reported.
