"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm," says the NWS Raleigh NC. The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.

The NWS Raleigh NC issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 2:51 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 3:15 p.m. for Halifax County.

On Friday at 4:41 p.m. an updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 5:15 p.m. for Jackson County.

Environment Canada has issued special weather statements for a large swath of central Alberta saying conditions are favourable on Friday for the development of funnel clouds.
