Tom Thibodeau’s Knicks sent J.B. Bickerstaff into offseason mode earlier then he wanted, yet the Pistons’ coach is still sticking up for his former colleague.

Over the past two weeks, the Knicks have tried to chase several currently employed candidates for their head coaching vacancy. New York has been tied to multiple high-profile names, such as the Dallas Mavericks’ Jason Kidd and the Houston Rockets’ Ime Udoka. However, the Knicks’ requests to interview both candidates have since been denied.

But a new update on the situation has kept hope alive that Kidd could eventually become the next head coach of the Knicks. According to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, Kidd may be looking for a new extension from Dallas. However, if this doesn't happen, Kidd could then turn his attention to New York.
