The California Classic and Salt Lake City  2025 NBA Summer League kicked off on Saturday, showcasing a mix of recent draft standouts and hopefuls aiming to earn a spot on an NBA roster ahead of the regular season.

A former Nebraska basketball player has signed a contract to play in the NBA summer league. Jack McVeigh signed with the Atlanta Hawks for the upcoming event in Las Vegas. McVeigh signed with the Hawks after the Houston Rockets did not extend a two-way qualifying offer. Ben DuBose of Rockets Wire explained the decision to let the guard leave.
