Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is getting a bumpy ride over a promotional graphic that appears to evoke a terror attack on Paris.

Pakistan's national airline has been criticised for an advert that shows a plane flying towards the Eiffel Tower - with some saying it bears similarities to imagery of the 9/11 terror attacks.

An advertisement meant to celebrate the resumption of flights to Paris showed a jet pointed toward the Eiffel Tower.

Pakistan’s prime minister has ordered a probe into who greenlit an ad with a plane flying straight at the Eiffel Tower accompanied by the words: “Paris, We’re Coming Today.” The poorly conceived graphic—which many observers were quick to note bore an awkward resemblance to imagery of the Sept.

The controversial post on PIA's official X account showed a picture of an airplane that appeared to be headed for the Eiffel Tower with the words, "Paris, we're coming today." There is another line on the graphic,
