Last week’s Wyndham Championship marked the 94th start of Cameron Young’s career and for so much of it people have wondered whether or not he would ever break through and lift a trophy. All of those conversations are over as he is officially a PGA Tour winner and an emphatic one at that. Young posted a score of 22-under and won by six full strokes.

Now all eyes will turn to the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, which marks the first of three playoff events. The top 70 golfers in the standings after the Wyndham Championship earned entry into the postseason. Then, after the first stop, the top 50 golfers in the standings will earn a spot in the BMW Championship the following week.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Cameron Young finally got his first PGA Tour victory Sunday after seven runner-up finishes, and he made it look easy. He had five straight birdies early to build a nine-shot lead and coasted home to a 2-under 68 to win the Wyndham Championship by six shots.
