Former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has been backed by his father, Antonio Perez Garibay, for a shocking move to the Formula E series. The update arrives weeks

After losing his Formula 1 seat at Red Bull Racing to Liam Lawson, Sergio Perez has broken his silence for the first time. On the back of what was a horrible 2024 season for Perez, rumours surrounding his future refused to go away as he finished in a disappointing eighth place in the standings, 285 points behind teammate Max Verstappen.

Perez had been under contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2026 season, having signed a two-year deal in the middle of last year – this extension being an attempt from the team at assuring him of his future and giving him confidence to push on, an attempt which ultimately didn’t work out.

An official Sergio Perez release has been confirmed following the Mexican's Red Bull axe. After a tremendously difficult 2024 Formula 1 campaign, it was decided that the Mexican would not be driving for the team this upcoming season.
