MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A pet zebra that went missing in Middle Tennessee has been found and rescued safely after multiple days on the loose, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

The zebra was first seen on I-24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Rutherford County. Deputies had to close the interstate because the animal was running through traffic.

The zebra, named Ed, was safely recaptured in a pasture in Rutherford County. He was airlifted in a net and flown by helicopter to a trailer so that he could be returned to his owner, AP reported.
