Spain's unemployment rate experienced a slight rise in January from the previous month, according to data from the Labour Ministry.

Spain's jobless rate inched up in January from the month before, but still held at the lowest level for the time of year - when seasonal work typically drops off after the Christmas holiday - in 17 years.

Analysts expect Spain's economy to continue to recover in the coming months, despite being likely to stay vulnerable to the continuing effects of the Valencia floods, and with the possibility of tariffs being imposed on the EU by the US.
