The White House is pursuing heavy fines from Harvard and other universities as part of potential settlements to end investigations into campus antisemitism, according to an administration official familiar with the matter.
According to a Thursday court declaration filed in the Northern District of California, the administration sought the go-ahead to lay people off at 17 agencies, including the departments of the Treasury, State, Interior, Agriculture, Labor, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, and Health and Human Services.
