This morning I went to see the aftermath of the Longton fire on Market Street. The scale of the damage is devastating. Fire crews were called out just before 3am, with six engines and two aerial ladder platforms working through the night to bring it under control. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but nearby buildings had to be evacuated, and roads remain closed while the site is made safe.
